As part of the IlluminAsia Festival, Vietnam Society presented a heartfelt dialogue on intergenerational healing featuring author Susan Lieu (The Manicurist’s Daughter) and sociologist Hai Trieu Nguyen.
The conversation explored emotional inheritance within Vietnamese families, reframing vulnerability and feelings (“the F word”) as pathways to collective healing. The program combined humor, empathy, and lived experience, creating one of the festival’s most memorable sessions.
