Summary
Part of the Kennedy Center’s RiverRun Festival, Mekong: SOUL was a multimedia concert tracing stories from the Mekong River through sound and movement. Emmy-winning musician Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ, composer Jonathan Berger, and the Apollo Chamber Players blended traditional Vietnamese instruments, chamber music, and narrative storytelling.
The performance captured the river’s spirit as both a source of life and memory, illuminating the shared cultural landscapes of Southeast Asia.
